Howrah Bridge (Rabindra Setu)Rabindra Setu is famous with the name of Howrah Bridge as because it the first bridge which connects Kolkata with Howrah.Howrah Bridge built in the year of 1940's and took 6 years to build, its made with 2600 metric High Tensile Steel to build this cantilever Bridge. B.B.D.Bagh (Dalhousie Square) Kolkata was the capitol in British Raj, Dalhousie Square were center of the Power. It's Kolkata Commercial hub and was named after three Martyrs of Bengal, who were hanged for trying to kill Lt. Governor General Lord Dalhousie. it is surrounded by several historical buildings. Writers building is located to the north of the Square, West Bengal Government Tourist Bureau is on the east side of Square. Southern side we have Raj Bhavan, St. John Cathedral, High Court and State Legislative Assembly. Reserve Bank and General Post office is on the West side of the Square. | |||

Kolkata High Court It was built in 1862 and its oldest court in the country. Towards the eastern side stand the original sandstone courthouse. Later on annexes were been built around it. Shahid Minar The 52 Meters tall tower, built in 1828 to commemorate the British East India Company's victory in the Nepal campaign of 1814-1816 and was named after Sir David Ochterlony ,the hero of the war .In 1968, it was renamed as Shahid Minar in the memory of Indian Freedom fighter. |

This magnificent Corinthian pillared building stands at the site of the original Fort William, which was destroyed during the attack by Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah in 1756.It was built in 1864. Fort William It was built in 1781,after the destruction of old fort in 1756.the Fort was named after King William III. Indian Coffee House Its located in College street opposite of Presidency College, Kolkata. It started in 1942 and in 1947 Central Government gave the name as Coffee House before it was known as Albert Hall. Coffee House had visitors like Rabindranath Tagore, Subhas Chandra Bose, Satyajit Ray, Amartya Sen. And now Coffee House is a famous meeting place of Writers, Poets, Artists, Film Makers, Scholars, Editors, Students. Raj Bhavan It is built between 1799 and 1805. It is the State governor's official residence. Writers Building Its built in 1880 and built for the clerks or writers of the British east India Company, who use to work and lived here. Now, it is the West Bengal Government Secretariat. |
